All thugs go to heaven but no cats above me
All Dogs Go to Heaven is an animated film from the late 1980s. Though not a perfect correlate, “thug” is often synonymous with (and sounds similar to) “dawg.” By saying “no cats above me,” he means that when all of his peers on the street and on the mic die, they’ll be blessed with eternal life—though none of them will ever be better “above” him, whether they go to heaven or hell.
The villain in All Dogs Go to Heaven is named Carface, only one letter off from the name of this group!
