[Verse 2: Childish Gambino]
Here he continues the idea of the hook, saying yes, he has money, yes, he has earned it (comedy, TV, rapping, now film), but no, he never sold out, which has made his earning more satisfying. He fights against stereotypes of old-money rich kids, still going a little crazy with the possibilities of the dough he now has, and what he can do with it. In other words, he can sit like Buddha on Arsenio Hall’s couch all he wants, but he’s still the same Gambino.
The verse is a lot of Childish directly taking on the haters through their misperceptions of his life.
