[Verse 2] Deputy Sheriff said to me "Tell me what you come here for, boy You better get your bags and flee You're in trouble, boy, and now you're heading into more"
[Pre-Chorus] It’s the same old story Everywhere I go I get slandered, libelled I hear words I never heard in the Bible
[Chorus] And I'm one step ahead of the shoeshine Two steps away from the county line Just trying to keep my customers satisfied Satisfied
“Keep the Customer Satisfied” by Paul Simon appears on the 1970 Simon and Garfunkel album, Bridge Over Troubled Water. This may be the only Rockabilly numbers they ever recorded. It’s similar in theme to another of their songs, “Homeward Bound”.
The Bridge album was their last, and was one of their biggest, selling over 25 million copies. They split up shortly after its release. The album is listed on the Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
