Sit down, Indian style, as we recite these hymns
He’s saying that you need to stop whatever you are doing and listen. As a child of the 90s I can attest that teachers made children sit “Indian Style” when they are supposed to be listening to the teacher in class. (“Indian Style” is popularized as “Cris-Cross Applesauce” in todays terms.) In this same way, he’s making you sit and listen as he “teaches”.
