Suckers steal a beat
When you know they can't win

from MC Lyte – 10% Dis Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

Lyte explained the story behind the beat stealing charge in this book:

The Audio Two had spoken with Hurby Luv Bug about getting a female act and doing an answer to “Top Billin'” called “Stop Illin'”. Hurby kept putting it off, and the next thing we knew we were in the car and heard the song “I Got an Attitude” [by Antoinette, produced by Hurby] using the same kicks and snares [as “Top Billin'”] — and she flipped Milk’s lyrics also. They [Milk and Giz] didn’t want to dis a female MC so they said, ‘You have to do it.’

This was not the first time that Hurby Luv Bug was accused of being a beat biter. See another instance here
