This song is playing on the stereotype that every black rapper is good at the craft and that white rappers are the contrary.
Timbo King, is a black rapper and Wu-Tang affiliate. In the song he is portrayed to be clothed in all black and is wearing Timberland shoes. Timberland boots are popular among some black communities and the title suits Timbo’s name.
R.A. the Rugged Man, on the other hand, is wearing all white clothes. Shelltoe is a nickname for the Adidas Superstar shoe. R.A. is also from New York, but unlike Timbo King, he’s from a smaller, less popular place — Port Jefferson, Suffolk County. As he sings on the hook of “Brawl”:
Here we come from Suffolk County and you might not heard about me but we poor
The two rappers then spit verses, using linguistic anaphora with words black and white.
