This line is sarcastic. The amount of paper money is vast because inflation is higher than ever, something Lupe has criticized before. In the future it will seem like ours was a time of prosperity, when it’s really the exact opposite. In his book End the Fed Congressman Ron Paul examines the idea of inflation as a hidden tax making warfare much easier to wage. Inflation acts as a regressive tax on the poor.
