It's a wrap when I'm done and I come a long way from a hundred dollars a month
To a hundred mil' in a day, bitch I'm from
These last few lines artistically “tie” together Dre’s verse with a bow “it’s a wrap”. They complete the idea that is started at the beginning of the verse. Despite the haters and ratchets who have fucked with Dre, he still made the long journey from the bottom to the top.
In “The Recipe” Dr. Dre says:
10 milli on, that’s a must,
living in California
And thats a wrap
Dre’s also not lying about that drastic change in income. This past year he earned $110 million before taxes, including the 100Ms he ultimately earned after HTC paid $300 million for a 51% stake in his Beats by Dr. Dre premium headphone company. This summer, Dre and his partners bought back half of that stake. BIG BUSINESS. Check out these articles by Forbes and the New York Post for further elaboration.
