And the amount of debt we're adding, at a trillion a year, is simply not moral
The choir sings “amen”. The debt is increasing so fast that our current taxpayer generations will not be able to pay it down if we continue with our current fiscal habits. It is immoral to leave that burden for future generations.
They’ll face the debt bills and associated large interest payments. And, more importantly, they’ll face fewer opportunities for prosperity secondary to the probable sluggishness of economic growth typical of large debt as a percentage of GDP. The interest payments to maintain the debt could balloon to about ¼ of the federal government’s spending obligation within a generation.
