So they don't know who Isis is, this priceless shit
This is so dope.
Some background information:
- Isis is an Ancient Egyptian Goddess.
The name Isis means “Throne”
The Pharaoh of Egypt (Basically the King) is depicted as her child and chosen to rule over the people.
This line refers to The Isis Crystal. Which comes from the Goddness, playing on the jewellery references in the previous line. The stone itself is said to be used for higher power and conciousness.
Putting all this together
“They” — the materialistic rappers focused on diamonds and gold are so blinded they’re missing the more important pieces of jewellery — that being objects such as The Isis Crystal and thus missing out on higher power/conciousness. Something Joey possesses. This can be inferred from the homophone created by Isis is which sounds like ice this is — ensuing jewellery.
“They” — don’t know who sits at the throne of the rap game. As far as Joey’s concerned, he does. “The Throne” has always been used heavily in Hip Hop to depict who the best has been and currently is. Most recently by Jay-Z and Kanye West with their album Watch The Throne
Joey’s the Pharaoh of the rap game — he could be depicting himself as the son of Isis, hence sitting at the throne.
The higher power/conciousness Joey posses to create bars like this — is priceless
