And everytime the cops pull me over, they don't ever see them
- Cops that pull him over don’t know him, they don’t see his emotional past or history as a heartbreaker…they just see another black guy to ticket.
- ‘Cops’ could also be the concerned family, friends, or people he encounters during his day-to-day life. They only see what’s on the surface of his facade, and not the pain that he is carrying from the loss of his relationship.
This is also an underlying metaphor to draw a parallel: When a cop pulls someone over, they disregard the circumstance, or any other reason that the person may have been, for example, speeding. The cop pulls him over for something unrelated, and never sees the hearts bleeding out of his trunk.
