This line follows from the previous one and is a reference to Genesis 1:3, and may mean the coming of hip-hop led people in black neighbourhoods to create just as God did In the Beginning. It might also mean hip-hop brought “light” to the “darkness” of inner city slums by allowing their inhabitants creative expression and so some happiness, or it could refer to the way hip-hop music brought the experience of inner city inhabitants to more public prominence and so shed “light” on them.
Alternatively, Vast Aire might be recounting a recent acid trip.
