[Produced by Hudson Mohawke & Kanye West]
‘Hold On’ definitely falls under some of Hudson Mohawke’s softer works thanks to the sample, piano, and autotuned vocals that Kanye supplies to the track. Despite these, the song still utilizes common trap sounds that one could come to expect from Hudson, such as claps and those deep 808’s.
While most people know Hudmo for his unique trunk-rattling bangers as a solo producer or his unique trunk-destroying bangers as a part of TNGHT, he’s actually got a softer side, as can be heard on tracks like ‘The One’ from Cruel Summer and more recently Drake’s ‘Connect’
As of late, Kanye has been working with producers more akin to making trap music, such as Hudmo and Travis Scott, no doubt to help get those hard hitting drum sounds. But, he comes back over those drums and does put his Kanye touch on them, making a beat that is truly special.
