Sometimes I even cut myself to see how much it bleeds
It's like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me
Stan says he cuts himself, because Eminem sometimes says he enjoys hurting himself in songs like this and Stan wants to be like Em.
Stan is testing his body’s limits and checking out whether he truly is alive or not : “how much it bleeds”, already living near death. His complacency in physical pain now joins his complacency in grief, the two reaching their peak in the suicide he seems to be already training for.
Later in the song Eminem says he doesn’t really cut himself, it’s just something his fictional alter-ego, Slim Shady, says in his songs.
