After being drafted in 1996 by the Hornets, Kobe was traded to the Lakers and is in 18th season with the LA team. This number is even more impressive when you look at his seasonal stats; in his rookie season he only averaged 7.6 points per game and didn’t go over 20 until the 1999-2000 season. He averaged around 28 points during the Shaq era, but really scored the bulk of his points between 2005 and 2007, when he averaged 35.4 and 31.6 points per season for a total of 5262 points.
From 2013 to 2015, he was really slowed down by injuries, playing only 42 games. He earned the #3 spot on December 2014 with a free throw against the Minnesota Timberwolves, passing Michael Jordan on the list which made this moment even more special since the two are always compared.
