Ask the F.B.I. agent at his cubicle
Chewing on his pencil eraser with intents to erase you Nas (Ft. Cocaine 80's) – Where's The Love

While Truman was in office, he didn’t run the show it was really hoover, the director of the FBI, who made things work. He also compiled a list of 12,000 Americans to detain during “wartime concerns”…sounds familiar to today…thanks Nas!
He means the move “The Truman Show” where Jim Carey plays a guy who, unknown to him, is living in an entirely made-up world full of actors and actresses, and his entire life is being filmed and watched as a tv show.
Double entendre – “The Truman Show” refers to the Jim Carrey movie where the protagonist’s life is made into a TV show, but also the Truman-era US when FBI surveillance became rampant – Nas cleverly ties in the entendre by talking about an FBI agent.
And watch me do it all again, it’s a beautiful life, aight? Nas – Bye Baby

Next time Nas is going to go for a more trust worthy girl. And they’re gonna do it all over. Guess you could say Nas' life is pretty good
When he says “The next Go round” he could reference another Guy song called “Round and Round (Merry Go Round of Love)” from the same album as the song sampled for Bye Baby.

Thank You that’s all I can say…for ever holding the Mi..thee greatest rapper alive
This line just goes to show, no matter how much beef Nas and BIG had, they always had a lot of respect for each other. With his explanation, Nas is basically say even though BIG was arguably the greatest since Dre in commercial hip hop he still wanted Nas to approve of him. This isn’t a brag on Nas' part, just a statement of fact, as in even when one of them made it big, the NY artists still looked to each other before they looked to outsiders to see if what they were doing was goood.
Who don’t bump Biggie? Gotta listen and study that Ready to Die and Life After Death
I could’ve died the same night that Stretch died
I just got out of his ride
He dropped me off and drove to Springfield
November 30th, another Queens king killed Nas – A Queens Story
https://soundcloud.com/rapgenius/nas-talks-about-stretch
Stretch he was a great friend of mine. We were working on the “It was Written” album together. He dropped me off at home after we was done and as soon as I got into bed, I got the call that his car was riddled with an AK-47 and that’s a gun that ain’t even used in New York then. It destroyed me. He was one of the coolest dudes I’ve ever met in my life. I’ve never talked about it until now. It was hard to talk about. I’ll talk about it more in my upcoming book. But I really want to respect his memory and at the same time talk about our relationship.
Stretch if you don’t know, rapped with Tupac and produced so much of Pac’s record, “Pain” I think. Pac thought that Stretch had something to do with him being set up and Stretch was really hurt by that because they was like brothers. Had Pac lived longer, I think they would have reconciled.

yeah I read about that on an article on the making of “It Was Written”. Poke and Tone said they didnt even touch “Take it in Blood” even though he didnt finish mastering it. It’s a shame how many people Tupac couldnt reconcile with.
I was wondering about that when i heard it on the new album. Interesting how pac and nas had some of the same close friends.
Stretch also rapped with Tupac in “God Bless The Dead”
I think Nas knows who killed Tupac but he is always abstract about saying he will write it in a book some day, here he mentions that AK’s were not even used in New York at the time meaning the killers were from LA or something. Check out his interview in 2006 when he got asked a question on when he met Pac at the MTV awards.
Best three things in my life right now: my daughter, my son, and my music.

Word!
From the man himself, ha!
“Buy the original!”
But u listen to Rozay and even collaborate with him…it bit contradictory aren’t we Nas
Why I listen to Nas – he is correct.
You still biggin' up Lil Wayne and Drake yo, their “gangsta life” is harder to believe than a broke dude that has a Gucci pouch that’s legit. But still, keep makin' dope music dun.
Yet you listen and collab with Rick Ross. lol

Performing this track at the ESPYs was crazy – so many great athletes, new and old, it’s the Grammies of sports! I don’t think I ever watched the ESPYs in my life, which makes me so honored to bring hip-hop there
I was trippin off doing Nasty in front of all these rich motherfuckers in their suits with their gorgeous wives.. most of these coaches and owners probably never seen a street corner in their life or heard a breakbeat
Nasty is all about breakbeats, cuts, and scratches. It has no chorus, I’m trying to bring that back, hence a lot of other songs that are out today… they came from the “Nasty” embryo
I didn’t start that style, but I’m happy to bring it back over breakbeats, New York 90s style
Doing that song at the ESPYs was genius – THANK YOU ESPYs

The mafia, homosexuals and all the Jews
It's hogwash point of views, stereotypical
Anti-Semitic like the foul words Gibson spewed
And it's pathetic Nas – Back When
https://soundcloud.com/rapgenius/nas-on-excuses
People come up with too many excuses for why they ain’t winning… That’s normal for young kids, but a lot of adults are dwelling too much on things that don’t help them move forward.
Even I’ve been victim of this too but I just decided it’s not productive.

I totally agree Nas! They should man up and face their own flaws. Your new album is amazing! Perhaps the best one since Illmatic!!
I loved this line nas. Its so true and no matter who I blame my problems are my own fault. I know alot who blame others rather than face it and move forward
Well said …life is what you make it…and by the choices we choose.
You on point bro!

A natural air about yourself that you carry with you that commands respect because you’ve been around, you’ve seen things, you’ve been through things that could really put a weak person down.

But what about you reflects donism. From personal experience I grew up in south cali with a bunch of hood mexicans, a army general that hosted all of them, and my whole family, from granparents to third cousins, with old school beliefs raising me. We all went through our shit, but who doesn’t, but one time I had to go to a prison and talk with homies that where in there for minimum 25 to life to teach kids about there stupidity. Now I definitely thought I was the baddest out of the group of kids, but obviously we done some shit to be were we where. Yet I walked out of there with everyone, from murderers to the three strike rule, and all colors, and after just three hours of the get together they respected me like no other. Haha I walked out the don of that group of people. We get assigned to one or two people to talk to, and of coarse I got the “Red” of the group, but every single one of them wanted me to talk to hear what I had to say. The only thing I did was not even mention the word prison, I was even laughing and talking shit on the 49er’s to one of the guys. And as wack as it sounds I am white to top it off. You born with it or grow with it?
