It’s funny as fuck, cause if someone met Ab-Soul in the real world they probably wouldn’t assume just how philosophical dude is… Like on some other dimension shit.
It’s real cool that you’d take time to make this and other explanation vids, open peoples minds up u know. Big ups man.
hahahahahahaaa this shit is hilarious!
ahhahaha i feel the same about the line
Such a diiiiiirty as flow by Rock. You guys feel me?
I never looked at it like that. I know a lot of rappers use the term “sticks” to reference a rifle of some sort but Jay Rock calling his stick a “Trident” you can only imagine he got that end game type of rifle lol

his one eye is always open like the eye on the top of the pyramid and the “eye in the sky”
I think he says this because he believed (or still believes) in a patriarchal capitalistic economic structure: a pyramid scheme. In order for a pyramid scheme to work masses of people have to sacrificed/mistreated/exploited in order for the individuals to privately acquire a substantial amount of wealth exponentially fast i.e. the top of pyramid. So much wealth it creates a level of access and privilege that expands control and power, (all seeing/knowing). Saying he keeps one eye open possibly could mean he fervently believes in this brand of capitalism.
For example: American slavery (pyramid scheme). Millions of people were sacrificed and exploited in order so the planter class (politicians), a small minority group, could profit off natural resources extracted through free labor. The wealth they made wasn’t distributed back to the slaves, obviously, but embezzled than laundered into private companies and government programs (what’s the difference..). Like the narcotics game: masses of people are sacrificed in order for the dealer to build wealth at their expense.
Now I feel I could run laps 'round Jay Z
Nas ain't seen nothin' this nasty
BIG and Pac got it comin' when I pass, too
You got the mic? I ain't the one you wanna pass to Ab-Soul (Ft. Kendrick Lamar) – ILLuminate

Wtf?!?! Ab-Soul just blew my mind!!
ab soul deserves to be called ONE OF THE BEST
Nigga said “I got 10 dollars on me right now”. You funny kid.
Ab Soul is a genius when it comes rap no doubt about it. You just can’t compare him to any legend yet.
This is such a bullshit industry statement that he only makes to secure his income. Notice that he only mentions Jay-Z in his defense. That’s cause nas, pac or biggie are people you can slight without it effecting your money right now.
I think that all of the above have put out greater discographies than ab-soul but to reference a person he claims to admire at the start of the song: Eminem on http://rapgenius.com/Eminem-till-i-collapse-lyrics “Cause I don’t really think that the fact that I’m Slim matters - A plaque and platinum status is whack if I’m not the baddest”
I think Soulo’s initial line was aimed at the new work of Jay-Z which i think is fair to go after. Jay-Z should have the same mentality as Marshall and not just rest on his laurels.
People fighting for the “crown” of hip-hop is what makes the music new and fresh and allows new ideas to flourish. If you want to listen to the old stuff it’s there too, nobody is taking that away from anybody.
I told myself I was gon' win
And I ain't know when
But it was gon' end up happenin', I want in Ab-Soul (Ft. Kendrick Lamar) – ILLuminate

Damn thats so dope. Soul. Realest in the game. Simply because he’s talent without all the bull shit. Nigga is legitimately wise.
“quadruple entendre dont even ask him how, con edison flow he’s conected to a Hiii power”, ab is like jay z 2.0
Funny how to the hip-hop fans that don’t enjoy lyrics as much would put him after their top 5 but to those who do, the meaning is the exact opposite. He’s weeding out all of the listeners into 2 opinions in the same sentence.
- after Em (Eminem), he sees himself as the best rapper after Eminem
- after Em (them), he sees himself as the best Rapper after them (he doesn’t say who he means)
- after Em (the letter “M”)
That just blew my mind.
Holy shit, I just realized how genius this line is.
uh, it’s Em.. as in Eminem. since if you’re a fan of rap then there’s no doubt Eminem’s in your top 5. it’s gotta be inevitable. else you’re not a true fan of the genre.
