How many sins? I'm running out
How many sins? I lost count
Kendrick feels as though he has committed a fair amount of sins in his life. Kendrick feels as though, even though he knows God to be forgiving, there’s only so much that CAN be forgiven.
Jesus was asked by the disciples how many times they needed to forgive someone. Jesus said, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:22).
That particular total is 490, however, the meaning behind it is that since you most likely won’t sit there and count each time you’ve forgiven an individual, the limit does not exist.
A reference to when he earlier said, “I am a sinner who’s probably gonna sin again/Lord forgive me, Lord forgive me/Things I don’t understand”. No matter how many sins he commits, he’ll always have faith in god, a major theme in his music.
