Some coastal birds—like herrons and kingfishers—depend on their fishing skills to get the fish they prefer to eat. Others skip all the work and simply wait for the fish to get washed ashore.
Unfortunately this doesn’t happen often enough to feed all the birds smart enough to wait on the shoreline and battles between the predators usually ensue.
