I come from the Wheel of Ezekiel
In the Bible, the prophet Ezekiel saw a vision of the Merkabah, God’s Chariot. The Merkabah was comprised of angels named ‘chayot’ who pulled another group of angels named ophanim. The ophanim were wheel-shaped angels.
Nas comes from God’s Chariot — and by extension, Heaven. This continues to messianic imagery in his oeuvre. Nas views himself as the savior or Messiah of hip-hop. He was sent from Heaven to metaphorically save the genre with his dope rhymes.
