Spray everything like SAMO,
SAMO was Basquiat’s and Al Diaz’s project, they both wrote graffiti on New York’s walls signing under that name. It’s an acronym for Same Old Shit, their works were mostly directed to politicians and institutions in general.
He references Basquiat and his tag “SAMO” in a song that addresses the fact that he still has drive and can’t stop even if people think he is too old: everyone is creating the same old shit, so the game needs him.
The graffiti near which Basquiat is painted above said:
Which of the following institutions has the most political influence?
B. The Church
Basquiat used to write the E without the vertical line, this inspired Jay’s Blueprint 3 cover.
